Our daughter adores singing, but I could see that the lessons provided by the music school she was enrolled in were neither exciting nor aspirational. That’s where Lucy’s expertise in teaching musical theatre is completely different. She nurtures strengths and works through challenges with just the right balance of seriousness and fun. Lessons cover a spectrum of musical styles and genres from past to present, whilst incorporating acting skills and emotion. It’s this wonderful combination of Lucy’s knowledge, talent and experience that has reignited my daughter’s passion for singing.

I have been studying with Lucy for four years now, and I have only good things to say about the training I have received. Not only have I had the opportunity to build my musical theatre vocal and acting repertoire, I have also learned technical skills that allow me to sing safely and grow as a performer. From belting with books while doing sit-ups to blowing through straws into water, we have done it all! Not only is Lucy an incredible teacher and coach, she is also a fantastic mentor. I have learned so much about the performing arts industry and truly feel prepared for every audition. Without Lucy, I wouldn’t have been accepted into summer programs at prestigious US universities and Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, and wouldn’t have been able to play such incredible roles in the musicals and productions I have had the opportunity to take part in. The zoom lessons are convenient and do not come in the way of my education and remote lessons have never made the experience less valuable. Lucy has truly been the reason for my success and I cannot wait to see what the future brings.

Lucy Hunter-James is an inspirational acting coach.  My daughter Tia took part in three of Lucy’s shows at the Madinet Theatre, The Wizard of Oz, Annie and The Sound of Music and loved every minute.  Lucy taught Tia how to perform her monologue for a competition in Los Angeles. Tia competed against 50 children and won 1st Prize.  I would highly recommend Lucy.
